Before you start

This takes about 10 minutes. It is not a personality quiz — most of it is about the craft, and some questions have right answers. Answer them yourself. We can tell.

We are hiring 2–3 editors right now, not fifty. This is a small pilot. If you are a fit and there is no slot today, we keep your application and come back to you first when there is.

So you can spot anyone pretending to be us.

We will never ask you for money — no fee, no deposit, no training package, no software to buy from us. We will never ask for your bank login, card number, or crypto seed phrase. A test edit, if we ask for one, is paid.

The craft

Six questions. Most working editors get five or six. Guessing is fine — looking them up tells us less than an honest wrong answer.

1. A client wants a vertical video for Reels and TikTok. What do you export? *

1920×1080, 16:9 1080×1920, 9:16 1080×1080, 1:1 1280×720, 16:9

2. Your footage is 60fps. The timeline is 30fps. The client wants a smooth slow-motion shot. *

Interpret the clip to 30fps, then it plays at 50% speed with every frame intact Slow the clip to 50% and turn on frame blending Export at 60fps instead Duplicate every second frame

There is no right answer here. We are reading how you think. Write it in your own words, in your own English — imperfect English written by you beats perfect English written by a machine, and we would rather have the first.

You are given a 22-minute cook-along and a brief that says: "three vertical shorts, punchy." The footage is good, but the host rambles for the first four minutes and never says what the dish is. What do you do? *
